Using the FLVPlayback component with Flash Player 9 Update 3

With the release of Adobe Flash Player 9 Update 3, Flash developers gain significant improvements for playing video content in Flash Player. This update includes changes to the FLVPlayback component that take advantage of the end user’s system video hardware to provide better video playback performance. The changes to the FLVPlayback component also increase the fidelity of video files displayed in full-screen mode.

Knol vs Wiki: friends or foes?

The BBC recently reported the headline “Google debuts knowledge project.” Google is planning a Wiki-esque venture, but with a Google twist: advertising that pays a tithe to the page author. Google Video Sitemaps

In our effort to help users search all the world’s public videos, the Google Video team joined the Sitemaps folks to introduce Video Sitemaps—an extension of the Sitemap Protocol that helps make your videos more searchable via Google Video Search. By submitting this video-specific Sitemap in addition to your standard Sitemap, you can specify all the video files on your site, along with relevant metadata. Here’s an example:
